National Junior Honor Society

Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is based on:
  (1) cumulative grade point average of 93    
  (2) leadership    
  (3) service    
  (4) character    

Selection Procedure
The Faculty Advisory Council selects members on the basis of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Seventh grade students must have attended MJHS for at least one full semester in order to be eligible for membership, have a cumulative GPA of 93 or above. Once scholarship requirements have been met, the Council will be given a list of eligible seventh grade candidates to select. Induction of new members will be held in April or May.

Transfer Members
Transfer members from other NJHS chapters may be admitted to the Meridian NJHS chapter if they meet the scholarship requirements for our chapter and verification of membership in good standing from their previous school.


Meetings
NJHS meetings will be called on as "as-needed" basis by the advisor.

Community Service
In order to remain in a member in good standing, NJHS members will be required to complete 5 hours of community service.
