High School Homecomings in Texas bring many traditions and celebrations. Meridian ISD is glad to support and carry on many of those traditions. We will kick off our Homecoming week celebrations with a parade on Monday, September 5. Line up begins at the Methodist Church at 6:00 and the parade will begin shortly thereafter. It will proceed down Morgan Street to 2nd Street and end at Yellowjacket Stadium with a community rally. Our student organizations, classes and entire Homecoming court will be represented. Local groups are welcome to join in the parade lineup.
Please note that we are aware this is a holiday weekend but with the majority of our students being involved in multiple events/activities throughout the week, Monday is simply the only day to hold such an event. We are glad to continue this MISD tradition. If weather impacts the parade, we will post notices on our social media accounts as soon as possible.
We would like to thank the Meridian Police Department and Meridian Volunteer FIre Department for helping make this event possible. We hope to see all of you Monday evening!
Homecoming events continue throughout the week with a variety of dress up days, which can be found on the MISD calendar. You can click on each calendar event to open and see additional details. Our Homecoming court will be represented again at our Friday pep rally held at MHS and Friday evening beginning at 6:30 prior to kickoff. Our concession stand will be offering authentic street tacos that evening as well. The football game will begin at 7:30.
We encourage students to participate in these Homecoming events and welcome our community to participate as well. We hope to see you there!
