From Coach Kendall

The Lady Jackets ran their last cross country meet for the 2019 season at the State Meet in Round Rock. They qualified as a team for the second year in a row and finished 10th out of 16 teams. Highest finisher for the Lady Jackets was senior Dakota Cassidy. She finished 20th out of 151 runners with her season’s best time. She has been an outstanding runner for the cross country program having qualified for state all four years of her high school career. We are going to miss Dakota next year and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. The second place finisher for the Lady Jackets is Mallory Paruszewski she came in 87th and ran hard all season long. This was Mallory’s second trip to the state meet. She is also a senior who will be dearly missed. Good luck in whatever you set your mind to Mallory. Junior Norah Lira came in 91st and finished with her season’s best. This is her 2nd trip to state and hopefully she will make it back next year. Great job Norah. Freshman Cambree White had a great race coming in 112th and setting a new personal record for herself. I look forward to seeing what great things Cambree will accomplish. Senior Reese Errington finished 113th and had her season’s best race. This is also her 2nd trip to the state meet and we will miss her leadership immeasurably. Best wishes at Texas A&M next year Reese. Faith Paruszewski, a junior, came in 124th and narrowly missed setting a new personal record. This was her first trip to the state meet but hopefully will not be her last. Great season Faith. Freshman Meryl Roberson rounded out the team with a 140th place finish. She will do her best to make a return trip next year and I wish her all my best. I would like to recognize Coach Charlotte Cooper for being an invaluable part of this program. She has been an amazing assistant coach and I don’t know what I would have done without her. Thank you Coach Cooper! This has been an amazing season and these girls have worked super hard to have the successes that they accomplished. They won back-to-back district championships, won the Moody meet, the Blum meet, came in second at the Keene, Hico, Priddy and Goldthwaite meets. They finished 3rd at Regionals and 10th at State. The seniors have definitely set the bar high for future Lady Jacket Cross Country Runners. Thank you Dakota, Mallory and Reese for your tireless dedication. You will be missed. I love each and every one of you.
