Upcoming Spring Break & the 2020-21 Calendar
Meridian ISD was granted approval of a missed school days waiver this morning by TEA. With approval of that waiver, students will not have to make up the time missed for the snow days in February.
Barring any other school closures, the approved 2020-21 MISD school calendar will remain the same.
A link to the calendar is found here:

Keeping MISD Staff Healthy, Part 2
Prior to Governor Abbott's announcement last week, which added school staff to the vaccination list, Nurse Amy had begun work with Goodall Witcher Hospital to provide Covid vaccines to any staff member wishing to receive them. Our first vaccination clinic was held on Monday, March 8. Nurse Amy is pictured here "taking one for the team". Special thanks to Goodall Witcher & Nurse Amy for providing this service!

Keeping MISD Staff Healthy
MISD staff recently had the opportunity to participate in several medical screenings at no cost to them. Eligible tests were bone density, AFIB and thyroid just to name a few. These tests were done on a Saturday so as not to disrupt the school day. Thank you to Texas Mobile Imaging and Nurse Amy for providing this service!!!

Reminder, it's "Read Across America" Week at MES!
Keep encouraging your children to read at least 20 minutes daily at home.
There is still time to visit the MES Virtual Book Fair to get new books for your home library (www.scholastic.com/bf/meridianelementaryschool2)
