Dear Parents & Friends, Our Scholastic Book Fair is quickly approaching! We will open for business on Monday, February 24. The book fair hours are 9:00am-11:00am & 12:30-3:00pm. This year Scholastic is offering eWallet. The eWallet option allows you to "load" an account for your child so he/she can shop within a set budget. And, you will only be charged for the amount spent! It is a great way to allow your child to shop without the hassle of sending money or trying to shop with your child! Leos had a day of service on Saturday, February 15 & could be seen helping out around town. As the youngest members of Lions Clubs International, Leos embody the best qualities of that incredible organization. Thanks to Ms. Weeks and all of our Meridian Leos for a job well done!

Congrats to Kenadee on receiving Reserve Supreme Championship with her heifer, Blonde, at the San Antonio Livestock Show. Great job!

1st day for track is Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 3:30-5:00 for all JH/HS athletes. They will be transported to and from the track unless other arrangements have been made. Thanks!

If you are looking for something to do this Valentine's evening, MISD has some opportunities for you! JV & V boys play Basketball in Hico, 5:00 start. MJH is hosting a Valentine's Dance this evening and our softball girls travel to Dublin for their 1st scrimmage of the season.

Congrats to McKenzie who took 8th place in her medium wool class! She returns to San Antonio for the Lamb Show on February 20th.

Senior Parents: Our Senior Class Meeting has been postponed until next week. We will meet with Seniors during Jacket Period Tuesday and Wednesday to plan Senior Week Activities, Senior Ceremony, discuss Grad Cords, etc. Please expect information Wednesday.

UIL practice on Thursday, February 13 will only go until 4:30.

Reese Errington also continued her winning streak today in Grandview by placing 5th in UIL Literary Criticism! Congratulate her when you see her.

Joseph Sandley continued his winning ways today at Grandview with another 2nd place finish in UIL Computer Applications! He is coached by Alicia Reed. Congratulate them when you see them!

Meridian Elementary School would like to recognize Mrs. Gwen Hitt, Special Education Teacher, and Mrs. Rachael Beaudin, Library Paraprofessional, as Staff Members of the Month for January. This achievement recognizes them for being "Heart at Work" for their constant efforts to help make Meridian Elementary "The Greatest School on Earth". Help us congratulate these two ladies for their dedication to the students, staff, and families of Meridian ISD.

Congratulations to Dakota Cassidy for signing a Letter of Intent to run for Southern Arkansas University!! We are all very proud that her hard work and dedication has paid off.

Congratulations to our 2 CX Debate teams! Hayden Hewitt and Annka Flatt placed 3rd. Andy Barnett and Michelle Santamaria are the District Champs and will be going to the CX Debate State Tournament in March. Chris Utton is their coach. Congratulate them when you see them.

Meridian powerlifting meet is underway....come on out to the MHS gym.
