On Saturday, 14 Meridian HS Band students participated in UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at University High School. The saxophone trio consisting of members Natily Rabago, Jaden Trester, and Tierney McLennan earned a spot to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest by scoring a First Division on the most difficult classification of music. Also receiving First Divisions were RJ Flournoy (Trumpet Solo), America Ramirez (Trumpet Solo), Vanessa Ramos, Michelle Santamaria, and Jaden Trester (Clarinet Trio). Receiving Second Divisions (Excellent) were Hector Neri (Trombone Solo) and Austin Perry (Snare Solo). All students had an amazing showing at a difficult UIL contest.
