The MISD Athletic Banquet will be held on Thursday May 15th at Meridian High School. Dinner will be at 6pm. Awards will follow around 7:00pm. If would like to purchase dinner tickets please return your completed reservation form to Coach Kerbow or Ms. Rosales in the front office by Friday May 9th.

The junior class of 2026 is ready to host prom at 5J in McGregor, TX. We look forward to a great night of safe fun for our seniors' last prom, dancing the night away at 5J. Grand March is at 4:30 at the courthouse.
Please remember that tomorrow, May 3rd , is Election Day. We encourage all who are registered to get out and vote. Meridian ISD has two items on the ballot. Our Board of Trustee's election, and the District has called for a Bond to move debt from our Maintenance and Operations budget to our Debt Service Budget. If the Bond passes it will free up funds from our Maintenance and Operations side and reduce our deficit. It will also allow us to pay the debt off earlier and reduce the interest owed. We appreciate our Community and the support we are shown.
Friendly reminder that next week is Teacher and Staff appreciation week. Our teachers and staff work so hard to make your school a wonderful learning environment for our students!
Here are some recommendations for easy (and free!) ideas for teacher/staff appreciation:
Handwritten Thank-You Notes – A heartfelt letter or card from a parent sharing how the teacher has impacted their child.
Emails of Appreciation – A kind email sent to the teacher and/or copied to administration, recognizing their dedication.
Social Media Shout-Outs – Publicly thanking teachers on school or community Facebook pages.
Testimonials for Newsletters – Offer a quote or blurb the school can use in their weekly newsletter to celebrate a teacher.
Due to the baseball play-off game, CTE Night has been postponed until next week. The new event will take place on Monday, May 5th virtually. This virtual event will give parents the chance to ask questions of our CTE teachers from the comfort of their home. May 5th @ 6 p.m. The link to the event will be posted on Monday and be included in the weekly newsletter.

As you prepare to vote, we ask you to consider the bond the District has called in the May election. This proposition before the voters is not intended to raise taxes. It simply allows the District to move some financed debt from our Maintenance and Operations Budget to our Debt Service Budget. This move will reduce the current deficit and allow the District the opportunity to pay the debt off sooner and reduce the amount of interest owed on it. This can be done with funds in the debt service account that have already been collected and will not require an additional levy. We would like to remind you that early voting ends Tuesday, April 29th and Election Day is Saturday, May 3rd. We encourage everyone who is able to vote!

The band concert that was scheduled for Monday night has been canceled due to the baseball tie breaker game scheduled for that evening. We will notify everyone if a reschedule is possible.
Great job to our Yellowjackets for the win over Italy last night, 12-3! They will now face Italy in Itasca on Monday night at 7 pm! Let's go Jackets!!
