When you arrive at Meridian High School, you’ll notice a new safety feature — a walk-through metal detector at the main entrance.

✅ Doors open at 7:15 a.m.
✅ All students must enter through the main MHS doors
✅ Everyone will pass through the metal detector to help keep our campus safe.

Reminder- HS Football Practice Monday & Tuesday 4pm-6pm. Report time 3:30!

HS Football Practice tomorrow Saturday Aug 9th 8am-10am. Media Day has been moved to Wednesday Aug. 13th at 6pm. Wendy Orozco will take our HS Football team picture at 6-6:15 after that she will be avaliable for individual pictures. The individual pictures are optional. There will also be another option for individual pictures on Friday Aug 22nd with Photo Texas who will be on site to take JH athletic pictures.

We had a successful launch of the 2025-2026 schools year with campus professional development and an amazing convocation, hosted by FBC. We are thankful to our hosts and our engaged staff who are ready to see our Yellow Jackets shine!

We are thrilled to welcome our new teachers and staff to the Yellow Jacket family! Their passion and dedication are already shining through, and they’re ready to welcome our students with open arms. Here’s to a great year ahead of building a golden future. #MISD

We will NOT have girls or boys summer workouts tomorrow, July 31st! Don't forget about the parent meeting tomorrow in the cafeteria at 6 pm! This is for all JH and HS athletes!

We can't wait to see everyone for Meet the Teacher on August 11th. Kona Ice will be selling snow cones. Stop by for a free hot dog as well. Our school board will be helping serve the meal. The Epi Center will have school supplies and hygiene bags available in the high school gym. See you soon!

Cross Country practice for HIGH SCHOOL BOYS AND GIRLS starts Monday, August 4th. Practice will be from 6:45am-8:30am. Doors will open at 6:35am. Please make sure you have all your physical paperwork completed. See you Monday morning.

If your high school student still needs to take their TSI, please have them get registered. This will allow them the potential to sign up for dual credit classes for the 25-26 school year. There will be more opportunities throughout the school year to take it for those interested in taking dual credit in the 26/27 school year. If you have any questions, please reach out.

The first official day of summer band starts tomorrow, Monday 28! Participating members and parents, please check the Band App for rehearsal information. This will be another high achieving year for the Band of Gold! #RiseAsOne #WinTheDay
