I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Dawson Cummings for his performance in Region 8 Symphonic Band last night at Midway Performing Arts Center. He joined with other Region 8 musicians for the best of the best in concert. These young musicians put on an amazing performance having only practiced the pieces together for 5 hours. Congratulations Dawson. We are so proud of you!

The Athletic Department will be recognizing all members of the 2024-2025 All District Football team at the January School Board Meeting. Athletes will need to report to the Elementary Library on Monday, Jan. 20th no later than 6:25pm. All athletes being recognized will need to wear jeans and a collared shirt if possible. Recognitions will be one of the first items on the agenda, so please do not be late.
Monday, January 20th is a student holiday/staff professional development day. This is just a reminder that students have Monday, January 20th off. Enjoy the break!

Great job to our Lady Jackets and Jackets who beat Rio Vista tonight! The Lady Jackets won 34-30 and the Jackets won 49-48! It's a great day to be a Jacket!
Due to travel concerns for Rio Vista going back home after the basketball games in Meridian tonight :
The JV Girls and JV Boys Basketball games have been cancelled for this evening
We will play Varsity only. The Varsity Girls will tip off at 4:00pm, Varsity boys will follow.
We want to recognize Dawson and Hayden Cummings on their achievement over the Christmas break. Both have been working for months to audition for the Guardians, an international drum and bugle corps organization that travels across the U.S. all summer performing a high energy field show. Both have received a callback! Way to represent our band program and MHS! #RISEASONE #WEAREMERDIAN
The HS Athletic Period will begin promptly at 10:00am tomorrow morning. Athletes not playing basketball will need to be dressed out and ready for workout at that time
Meridian ISD will have a 10:00 am start on Friday, January 10th. With the saturated roads and possibility of freezing temperatures overnight we want to ensure safe road conditions for our students, staff and bus drivers. Buses will run 2 hours late on Friday.
