My name is Zakary Dirkse. I am the son of Brent and Amy Dirkse. I completed high school in December, but I was in Athletics for 3 years, I played tennis for 1 year, I ran track for 3 years, I played basketball for 2 years, I ran Cross Country for 3 years, and I was also active in Academic UIL for 2 years. I competed in Mathematics and Number Sense for 2 years and went to Regionals both times, I was also in Calculator Applications and One Act Play my sophomore year. Among my involvements in high school, I was in Band for 6 years and I played the tuba. I was also a member of the National Honor Society for 2 ½ years. I helped with Mission Meridian for 5 years, all the way back to when it started. I also helped my mother with the Haunted House for 2 years. After the graduation ceremony, I will return to Florida where I will continue to go to college for A master’s degree in some form of science, so that I can teach future college students. My favorite memory of high school is leaving. Not only because I am done with high school, but because it is my last memory of all my friends together for the last time.
